I made a bag!

I was feeling the need for another bag! I may have 30 odd in my cupboard but one can never have enough handbags!

I needed one for carrying around A4 documents. I have made a few magazine shoppers before but this one is a bit different as its wider horizontally rather than vertically. The material is good old Ikea. Lined inside with the same material. The handles are reused from a shopping bag from Reiss! Funnily enough the colour matches perfectly.

I made a little rosette thingy a put on a fab button I found recently - its all sparkly and the yellow goes great with grey.

Birthday Wish List

Seeing as it is my birthday next Monday I felt the need to draw up my presents wish list! Whether I will actually receive any of them is another matter altogether. I have specifically asked my dad to buy the handbag but seeing as he doesn't seem to understand the concept of buying things from abroad I doubt I will be getting it - no doubt he will see the seller is in Lithuania and be terrified!! I have tried to persuade him it really isn't a big deal but I am not sure he is convinced.

My mum has bought me something from a fellow UK seller (I will blog about that once I get it on Monday) but obviously I had to order and pay for it - again she also hasn't got the hang of internet shopping yet.

Anyway, these are the beauties that I am lusting after right now:

- Print by groundwork.
- Cosmetic case with appliqué flower from ShibaNgDesigns.

New Photos!

My ongoing efforts to improve my photos continues... I have now uploaded a few to my Etsy shop. When I first started I had a white background which I felt looked rather grey. So I experimented with a darker background and settled on a grey/silver paper which I rather liked. However, I am not sure it is working - I have been in considerably less treasuries and feel perhaps they are too dark.

So I have purchased some coloured paper and am using them to offset the jewellery - now I know this is not an original idea by any means - but I thought I would give it a go. Does it work? I guess we will have to wait and see!

Purple!

I seem to be in a colour rut! It's quite strange but I often find that I make one item in a certain colour and the next item I make is in virtually the same colour. I have no idea why - a couple of weeks ago it was turquoise, this week it's purple!

I think it's time to move on - my quest to become more adventurous with colour is progressing badly - although I have some earrings that are mustard and red in mind. I’ll let you know when they are done.

I'm also experimenting with my photography - again not with absolute success. It’s definitely a work in progress!

In the mean time, here are my purple earrings and purple/lilac button necklace both made this week.

Easter Finds!

The Easter Bank Holiday is here! As an athiest I can't say the whole religious side of it (which would be all of it actually) is of a great deal of interest. I guess, if anything, I see it as a celebration of spring. So in honour of spring, here are a few cute Etsy finds!

UK Etsy Challenge

This months UK Etsy Challenge had an interesting theme: Turquoise and Red. I have to admit to being a little unadventurous with my use of colour so this really was a challenge! My first thought was that the two colours would never work together - but in actual fact if you get the right shade it kinda works! I think the combination looks great and it has inspired me to go through my boxes of beads and try some more unusual colours.

These earrings were my entry:

Here are a couple of my other favourite entries:

Pendant by Seaurchin.
Print by Artomotive.
